Tongue-in-Creek at McCabe’s

Tongue-in-Creek Band Debuts at World Famous McCabe’s Guitar Shop Sunday Nov. 24 2019.

Around here, it goes without saying …McCabe’s Guitar Shop is THE venue every new Folk, Country, Bluegrass, or Americana band dreams of playing… someday.

For Bluegrass parody band, Tongue-in-Creek, it will be their debut venue.

Not your normal Bluegrass Band, Tongue-in-Creek promises top notch playing and singing  combined with comedic banter, props and costume changes.

The Metromix guide to Los Angeles calls McCabe’s “a mild-mannered guitar/stringed instrument shop by day” that “opens up as a world-class concert venue by night.”

The McCabe’s stage has been host to the likes of Bill Monroe, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, John Sebastian, Chet Atkins, Beck, Vince Gill, and Doc Watson… and of course, their own band member, Fred Sokolow who has performed and taught there for decades.

McCabe’s is owned by Robert and Esperanza Riskin. Robert is the son of actress Fay Wray and Robert Riskin (screenwriter of “It Happened One Night.)

Singer, Songwriter, and TVcomedy writer, Tracy Newman, will open the show at 8pm.
